Thank you for stopping by. I have been doing photography for most of my life. I even made a little (very little) money at it. I needed a way to share my work and decided to do a blog.
I got the idea for The Plain Vision blog from two sources. The germ of an idea started when I purchased Rafael “RC” Concepcion’s book, “Get Your Photography on the Web.” As Mr. Concepcion is part of the Kelbymedia group, he really knows how to instruct how to create a blog or web page. I also read Jolie O’Dell’s book “Blogging for Photographers.” Both are very helpful books. But I still had my doubts because I am into all types of photography.
The second was seeing the work of Dave on his blog Shoot Tokyo. He is what I would call a “street photographer.” He shows us everyday life wherever he travels. I read his blog and have enjoyed his offerings. The fact that he is unafraid to state he still uses film, as well as digital, media was also a comfort. I also looked at Toad Hollow Photography and Christa Meola’s blogs as well. (And I do have Christa’s book.)
Finally, my loving and long-suffering spouse stated that I really needed to get my work out for people to see. It is one thing to get gear and take pictures. But if no one can see them, you have not shared your experience nor can you grow.
Once again, thank you for coming in. Please feel free to leave a comment.
